Our clients completely remodel their 20 year old home instead of selling to fit their lifestyle!
Designer notes: These clients reminded me of how fortunate I'm to do what I love and the friendships I've made along the way every time I was in their home! When we first met they were considering moving with their 2 teenage daughters. After they considered several options, they realized they loved their location, now we just need to update their interiors to fit their growing lifestyle and help them love their home again!
Our clients knew they wanted an open concept, they desperately needed more light, more room in the kitchen, an updated design and a functional but beautiful home. In our Master Design Plan we conceptually designed just that! The first step is to design a Kitchen that would take center stage and the rest of the open concept would follow. What was once a 10 x 10 Kitchen divided from the family room and a 10 x10 Dining Room is now a 20' x 12' heart of the home and is as elegance as it is functional! It can accommodate their entire family at any given time with the addition of the 12' long Island! Did I mention they are Italian and love to cook & entertain! Many nights are appointments ended with light fare and a glass of wine. I love my clients! Bon Appetit!
The amount of detailed planning for this kitchen alone was profound; meeting with the client and contractors, sourcing of vendors, we brought samples on sight and met with them out in the field for product & appliances sections, meeting in multiple home as construction progressed and our clients moved out, we were evolved in each phase of construction and our design plan. All the details that went into this kitchen alone was amazing and a collaborated effort with our awesome clients for an exquisite end result!
While demolition is in process and the spanish tile is now gone, it makes way for the open concept to begin! In the Master Design Plan we moved the dining room to the other side of the great room and joined the spaces together with a light wood gain linear floor tile through out the entire home. We choose Agreeable Grey to paint the walls due to it's warm nature and beige undertones, we added glass doors to the double door entry for natural light to filter in.
Open concepts are great, you don't want your home to feel stark and cold! No chance of that here, we layered the textures in this open space from the unique 17' wide x 12 ' high custom wallpaper made of opal flex. It set the backdrop for the great room, we then added ledger stone for 3-dimensional detail behind the TV to define the space. Our final furniture selections include a 11' leather sofa and side chair to give you an idea of the size of the room. We accented with soft shades of tan and Ivory with silver & gold metallic and stone finishes in the credenza, TV console, foyer, cocktail and end tables, a custom bordered shag rug for an opulent and cozy feel, wood tones in the dining room furniture and barstools for warmth and to ground our design, custom faux silk gathered cornices and draperies to complete the look. The accessories were also custom designed, a quantity of 15 24 x 24 metal sculptures in black and gold were hand painted by yours truly to create this unique sizable art design. Everything in this home was uniquely designed for our clients right down to the foyer 3ft tall floral arrangement and the 3' long water garden floral arrangement on the dining table. The final selections of light, from the new recessed lighting, the foyer and dining room chandelier, the kitchen pendant lighting and the gold metallic lamps completed the elegant but cozy look. The clients are in love with their new home once again and we love that they are so happy!
